Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc
Region/History Notes: The Talinay Vineyard sits just 7 miles in from the Pacific coast, creating a very cool-climate atmosphere perfect for Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc. The cold ocean temperatures create a constant cool sea breeze so the area never gets above 75 degrees even in the summer! The soils are old, fractured limestone rock (high levels of calcium carbonate) that the roots can penetrate easily for water and nutrients.
Tasting Notes: Bright fruit and fresh mouthfeel, the wine has loads of citrus, but not all just grapefruit- tons of key lime and lemon peel jump out of the glass. White peach and a pop of jalapeño pepper spice to the end make this wine so delightfully refreshing. Perfect Spring and Summer white to throw in every picnic basket.
