O & T “Les Gourmets” Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2019: Loire Valley, France

Grapes: Sauvignon Blanc

Region/History/Producer Notes: The Loire Valley is vast in size and style of wine produced. The Touraine district is one of the largest regions and sits right in the middle of the Loire Valley. While sub-regions within Touraine focus on their own individual grapes- anything from Chenin Blanc to Malbec- Sauvignon Blanc is grown in large quantities there and can be some of the best value white wines in France!

Tasting Notes: Bright citrus fruit and peach notes with lovely balance and a crisp finish. The weightier minerality in this wine makes it the perfect winter Sauvignon Blanc. Pair with grilled oysters, scallops with garlic butter sauce, crab cakes, or with saltier cheeses like Pecorino.
