La Gioiosa Prosecco: Veneto, Italy
Region/History Notes: La Gioiosa takes its name from an ancient local saying, “Marca gioiosa et amorosa” meaning, “The joyous and amorous March” referring to the local province where this wine is made. What a glorious description of what Prosecco should bring to our life! Prosecco is made in large tanks with carbon dioxide injected into the tanks, a process called the “Charmat Method”. This process creates smaller, softer bubbles instead of the traditional explosive bubbles created by the Champagne Method.
Tasting Notes: This wine goes down WAY too easily- you have been warned! Ever-so-slight sweetness to the finish but soft bubbles and crisp fruit make it delightfully refreshing. Who needs food??
