Domaine La Ligière Côtes-du-Rhône Rouge 2019: Rhône, France

Grapes: Grenache/Syrah

Region/History Notes: This family-owned and operated estate has only been around since 2008 and consists of less than 5 hectares but practices biodynamic farming and makes incredible wines at killer values. I haven’t had anything by them yet that didn’t pack in way more power and flavor than expected and this wine is no exception.

Tasting Notes: Peppery, purple damson plums with hints of red geraniums and a rich, smooth finish. There are just enough grippy tannins to give you something to hold on to, but you could not find a more crowd-pleasing red wine if you tried! Great with grilled bratwürst, casseroles, mac n’ cheese, stir-fried mushrooms and veggies, or just with some chocolate by the fire- so versatile!
