Château Pesquié “Terrasses Blanc” 2019: Ventoux, Rhône, France
Grapes: Viognier, Grenache Blanc, Roussanne, Clairette
Region/History/Producer Notes: Ventoux is certainly not the most famous sub-region in Rhône but it provides a unique terroir and climate to make elegant wines without the price tag of some more well-known regions. The vineyards are situated at the foot of Mt. Ventoux and higher elevation than most of the rest of Southern Rhône with high concentrations of limestone in the soils. The family has 50 years and 3 generations of history tending these vineyards and now farm biodynamically. The Terrasses labels is unoaked and made to be drunk young and often!
Tasting Notes: Fresh, fruit forward, engaging and vibrant! Green melon, pineapple, and kiwi notes with just the tiniest hint of floral characteristics and a finish that is the perfect balance of brightness and creamy mouthfeel.
