Château Maris Vermentino 2019: Pays d'Oc, France

Grapes: Vermentino

Region/History Notes: Pays d’Oc is a declassified wine designation for the region that roughly coincides with Languedoc in Southern France. Declassification allows the producers to be more flexible in their winemaking- especially when it comes to maximum quantity levels- which means they are the best value wines in France! Maris certainly isn’t cutting corners though- they are certified organic, biodynamic, and BCorp which means they have the most strict practices to adhere to both in the vineyard, in the winery, and as a business overall. They do it right, every time.

Tasting Notes: Vermentino is as much a French grape as it is an Italian one and is a delightful wine for Spring and Summer with loads of tangerines, orange blossom, melon notes, and apricots- it tastes like that color of orange! All with bright acidity and beautiful minerality, this wine is a keeper!
