While many have sided with that jerk from the movie Sideways and decided Merlot is not for sophisticated wine drinkers, I beg to differ! Tasting through 4 vintages of Paloma Merlot will showcase what world-class Merlot is all about--I am SO excited for this event! We can discuss the movie, but I'd rather spend my time discussing the nuances of how these wines age in the bottle. Spring Mountain provides some of the coolest climates for Napa, sitting high above the fog line where the vines have to struggle for water and nutrients. This creates incredibly complex and age-worthy wines. Let's see how they change with each vintage!! We will taste through these vintages: 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017 (all $85/bottle).
