Virtual Wine Class: The Crus of Beaujolais
Description: Gamay (hybrid grape of Pinot Noir) is one of my favorite grapes and the early Fall is such a beautiful time to drink these sultry reds. Beaujolais (pronounced BO-sho-lay not BOO-sho-lay) is a region in the south of Burgundy, France that focuses almost exclusively on the Gamay grape. Bo-Jo (how the Somms refer to it) is known for 10 villages or “Crus” that make the most spectacular and interesting versions of the grape, each having unique soil type and terroir.
We will be tasting through 4 of the 10 Crus and discussing what makes this region the underdog of French wine that is held in such high esteem by wine nerds around the world.
7:00 on YouTube: Anyone can tune in for free to these YouTube classes! If you want to taste the 4 wines alongside us, you can order your 4-pack and have it delivered to your house before the event (Hampton Roads, Virginia only). Pricing varies for each class depending on the wines being featured.
